It has been said for centuries that before men built walls and wrote laws, two forests reigned over Gaul like two sisters of mist and silence: Brocéliande , at sunset, and the Forêt des Carnutes , in the heart of the country.

The Druids' Sanctuary in the Carnutes Forest

The Carnutes Forest was the sanctuary of the druids.
Every year, they gathered there, under the ancient oaks, to hear the voice of the gods and chart the destiny of the clans.
There, time seemed to stand still: neither iron nor stone, only wisdom carried by the wind and the song of the leaves.

The kingdom of enchanters in the forest of Brocéliande

Brocéliande, for its part, was the haunt of enchanters and fairies.
We met Merlin , the magician, prisoner of Viviane 's spells, and the shadows of Morgane , sister of King Arthur.
There, the real and the marvelous mingled, as if each stone, each spring, was a door to another world.

The Invisible Path

The ancients said that an invisible path connected the two forests.
Those who knew how to listen to the whisper of the trees could find it.
For Brocéliande and the Forêt des Carnutes shared the same secret: they were the guardians of Celtic memory , one watching over the knowledge of the druids, the other over the magic of legends.

A wisdom not to be forgotten

And some said that the day man forgot his roots, the two forests would come together again, to remind the people that without wisdom and without dreams, there is no kingdom that lasts.

Thus, history and legend, by crossing, weave the same truth: Brocéliande and the Forêt des Carnutes are two sacred sisters , one born from history, the other from myth, but both guardians of a wisdom that the modern world must not forget.

The Barenton Fountain, an enchanted spring

Among the mysteries of Brocéliande, none is more famous than the Barenton Fountain , which is sometimes nicknamed the magic well .
Its clear waters are said to cause rain if a few drops are sprinkled on the nearby stone steps.

It is also in this place that, it is said, Merlin met Viviane , the Lady of the Lake.
The fountain thus became the symbol of the link between the world of men and that of the invisible, between history and magic.

In the legend of the two sister forests, the Fontaine de Barenton is one of the points where the invisible path linking Brocéliande and the Forêt des Carnutes could be glimpsed.

Our concept store was born from the blended breath of Brocéliande , kingdom of fairies and enchantments, and the Forêt des Carnutes , cradle of druids and ancestral wisdom.

Between these two heritages, we wanted to create a place where the marvelous meets ancient knowledge , where craftsmanship, nature and legend unite to revive the magic of yesteryear.
